Vectis: A Contemporary Armchair with Dynamic Character

Vectis, designed by Eckhard Beger for ArteNemus, stands out with its unique and innovative features. The lateral and backward inclination of the wood structure emphasizes the chair's dynamic character, while the use of high-quality materials adds to its overall appeal.

The armchair is covered in maple veneer, providing a sleek and sophisticated look. The cushions, made from full grain leather, offer both comfort and durability. The graphic and pictorial ebony marquetry inlay on the structure, along with the contrasting leather stripes on the cushions, create an aesthetic tension that adds to the chair's visual impact.

When it comes to the production process, Vectis combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The marquetry inlay is meticulously hand-made, while the path for the inlay is numerically machined to ensure the highest level of precision. The cushions, on the other hand, are carefully crafted by hand using full grain leather.

With its ergonomic design, Vectis provides optimal comfort and support. The seat height is set at a classic 45cm, while the arm and lumbar support reach a height of 69cm. This thoughtful design ensures that the armchair is not only visually appealing but also functional and comfortable.

Vectis was created as part of a collection of contemporary art furniture pieces, which includes designs such as Labyrinth, Shift, and Literis. The collection's aesthetic is based on generic geometric shapes with ebony marquetry on a maple background, creating a cohesive and visually striking series.
